Bandai is adding the RX-78-2 Gundam to the Exceed Model series with a three-part design that lets collectors display the mobile suit’s exterior armor, internal structure, and Core Fighter cockpit.
The Exceed Model Trinity RX-78-2 Gundam Cable + Light Unit Set consists of three different components, with all three required to complete the full Gundam bust.
The Exterior + Cable Unit covers the Gundam’s outer armor while exposing mechanical cable details around the structure. The Internal Structure + Headlight Unit reveals the mechanical framework beneath the armor and includes a light-up headlight.
The third component, the Core Fighter Cockpit + Cockpit Light Unit, displays the cockpit inside the Gundam’s head area and features its own lighting gimmick.
Once all three components are assembled, the completed RX-78-2 Gundam bust measures approximately 20cm tall. The individual components measure approximately 120mm to 150mm.
The three components are distributed at nearly equal rates. The Exterior + Cable Unit has a distribution rate of 33.4 percent, while the Internal Structure + Headlight Unit and Core Fighter Cockpit + Cockpit Light Unit each have a 33.3 percent distribution rate.
The Exceed Model Trinity RX-78-2 Gundam Cable + Light Unit Set is priced at 1,850 yen including tax. Sales begin August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. JST, with orders scheduled to close on September 10 at 11:59 p.m. JST, or earlier if the limited quantity sells out.
Home delivery in Japan is scheduled for late October 2026.
With the three components assembled together, collectors can switch between the RX-78-2 Gundam’s exterior armor, internal structure, and Core Fighter cockpit, with lighting gimmicks featured across the different sections.
