Fans of After War Gundam X have something new to look forward to as a brand-new sequel side-story manga is set to begin serialization later this month.
Titled After War Gundam X FLASH, the manga by Koichi Tokita will begin serialization in the October 2026 issue of Monthly Gundam Ace, which goes on sale in Japan on August 26, 2026. Ahead of its debut, a two-page spread from the first chapter has also been revealed, offering an early look at the upcoming story.
The new manga is set in the world of After War Gundam X and will tell a new story within its After War timeline. It also serves as a continuation of After War Gundam X NEXT PROLOGUE "If I'm With You", the follow-up manga released in 2018 that continued Garrod and Tiffa's journey.
For Tokita, FLASH marks another return to a series he has been connected with since its original run. He previously worked on the Gundam X manga that was serialized alongside the television broadcast, and now he is returning to the series with an entirely new story.
The timing is also pretty fitting. After War Gundam X is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, and FLASH will become part of the series' anniversary year with its debut in Monthly Gundam Ace.
The preview pages only offer a small glimpse at what lies ahead, so fans will have to wait until the October 2026 issue arrives to see how the next chapter of After War Gundam X unfolds.
