To celebrate the screening of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island movie on June 3rd, 2022, Premium Bandai announces the release of the RX-78-02 Gundam in the HG Universal Century GunPla lineup.


The kit is molded in similar colors faithful to the movie version while sharing the same molds with the Gundam The Origin version of the RX-78-02 Gundam. The kit also features a newly designed water slide decal sheet to detail the kit.

The kit is packed in a full colored box art celebrating the release of the movie.

    This is false, I have double-checked and literally the molding has not changed from the original release of the Origin Version. The only thing I can see thats different is that theres a new marking sheet and that the B1, B2, and C runners are now in that dark green color instead of the same neutral-ish grey used on the grey parts previously but also on this versions beam rifles.

  2. I like the slightly brighter colors on this one, and from all sources the Origin Gundam is a great HG representation of the venerable RX-78-2.

    I wish they had provided a couple of pictures of the kit built but without all those decals applied, I think it makes it incredibly busy looking and ruins the otherwise very austere look of the RX-78-2
