As promised, Sunrise will be launching a new Gundam Build Divers anime series this year. The series' official website launches with a promotional video that compiles the Gundam's 40th anniversary highlights that includes the teaser for the Re:Rise main Gundam and protagonist, which names will be announced on later date.

DeleteSame universe as the OG build divers? wonder how this fits into that overall story (from what I've seen a lil kid manages to beat the highest level gamer through the power of like friendship or something)
ReplyDeleteMore like he and his rival overwhelmed his ultimate attack with their own together after the highest level gamer spent the match dismantling them one after another. It was actually a pretty good fight.

ReplyDeletethey really missed their chance to follow the build fighters tropes with the first BD - that is having 1 knowledgeable blue haired MC pairing up with 1 clueless but op red haired Mc. Given that they actually use VR in GBD they could actually typecast the trope in one MC like having the MC have the blue hair trait in real life and totally change it to red hair trait when he enter VR.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally glad they didn't, 'cause if I wanted to watch Gundam Build Fighters again, I'd just go watch Gundam Build Fighters. Divers wasn't amazing by any stretch of the word, but rehashing it into Gundam Build Fighters+VR wouldn't have made it any better either. It'd just be lazy.
DeleteThis feel pretty interesting. The new season looks a little bit darker than the original. Then again, they finished showing off all the major bits of GBN with Divers, so I look forward to seeing more developed story elements this time around.
