A sad news for all Gundam fans as the Gundam themed coffee shop will be closing its hatches in January 2022.
The closure will affect all Gundam Cafe facilities starting with the Osaka location effective January 10, and will be followed by the Gundam Cafe in Tokyo and Fukuoka on January 30th, 2022, while the remote Gundam Cafe will remain open as it currently serves the Gundam Factory Yokohama event until further notice.

With this situation, all employees will be terminated accordingly and will be compensated as they separate with the company.
Gundam Cafe has also released a note of gratuity to all supporters and fans who have patronized their products through the years of service since the first opening in 2010 in Akihabara district.
Though the company did not state why they were closing all of a sudden, it was presumed that they are closing due to the temporary tourist ban in Japan since pandemic.

Oof. Goodbye to that bucket list item as well then. Thats a shame. Glad to hear they're taking care of their employees at very least. Something that rarely if ever happens here in the US.
