P-Bandai: HGUC 1/144 G-Line Assault Armor - Announced!

P-Bandai: HGUC 1/144 G-Line Assault Armor

Release Date: TBD

Price: 3,850 yen

The RX-81 G-Line Assault Armor is finally getting its own HGUC GunPla release through Premium Bandai. The HGUC 1/144 G-Line Assault Armor is based on the RX-81AS Assault Armor RX-81, a close-range variant of the RX-81 G-Line that first appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record U.C. 0081.

The Assault Armor was developed for heavy close-quarters combat, with additional armor designed using equipment derived from the RGM-79FP GM Striker. The added armor significantly changes the G-Line's appearance, covering much of the mobile suit with thick defensive plating suited for direct combat.

The RX-81AS is also equipped with a dedicated armament configuration built around its close-range role. Its heavier armor is paired with equipment designed to support sustained combat at short distances, giving the Assault Armor a very different loadout compared with other G-Line variants.

For situations that require additional propulsion, the mobile suit can mount a drum-type backpack equipped with seven built-in thrusters. The backpack provides additional thrust to compensate for the weight of the Assault Armor while expanding the mobile suit's mobility options during combat.

The G-Line series was developed as part of the Federation's efforts to create a next-generation mobile suit based on the RX-78-2 Gundam's performance. The RX-81 platform could be configured with different armor and equipment packages, allowing it to fulfill different combat roles.

The Assault Armor represents the heavily armored close-combat configuration of the series, with its thick armor and additional propulsion equipment setting it apart from the lighter G-Line variants.

The new HGUC 1/144 G-Line Assault Armor will be released through Premium Bandai for 3,850 yen. Its release date has yet to be announced. Additional product images and specifications are expected once the official Premium Bandai product page goes live.
