According to sources, the man, identified only as a long-time Gundam fan, took the costume party invitation as an opportunity to show off his latest GunPla-inspired cosplay.
"I thought, 'Why not go all out?'"'And bring my mobile suit to the wedding. "It's not every day you get to combine Gundam and matrimony," he remarked, smiling with delight.
Ryuryu and Ruby, the bride and groom, were already expecting a range of costumes because they are known cosplayers who represented Japan at the 2019 World Cosplay Summit. "Honestly, it's incredible. How frequently do you see someone wearing a Mobile Suit at a wedding? The groom stated, "It's something we'll laugh about for years."
