Premium Bandai has officially announced the long-awaited Master Grade 1/100 Stark Jegan, bringing the heavily armed variant from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn into the MG lineup. Based on the mold of the RGM-89D Jegan Type D, this release recreates the RGM-89S Stark Jegan with a full set of newly molded armor and weapon equipment unique to the anti-ship assault configuration.
The kit features extensive new parts to accurately depict the Stark Jegan’s upgraded combat loadout. Its head unit includes newly molded armor to match the Stark specification, while the additional armor across the chest, arms, waist, and legs has been completely redesigned for this variant. The result is a bulkier and more battle-ready silhouette that reflects its role as a special forces mobile suit.
Mounted on the shoulders are the iconic Triple Missile Pods, inspired by the concept seen on the RGM-86R GM III but recreated with new molds specifically for this kit. The backpack is equipped with powerful high-boost thrusters designed for space operations, along with three movable stabilizers that add extra display possibilities.
Both arms are outfitted with weapon racks featuring opening and closing hatch gimmicks, each storing the Stark Jegan’s dedicated armaments. These include a pair of beam sabers and a grenade launcher, allowing the unit to quickly deploy its weapons during combat.
As an added bonus for display fans, the kit is also compatible with the separately sold RE/100Â Type 89 Base Jabber ver. UC, making it possible to recreate dynamic airborne support scenes from the Universal Century battlefield.
Originally introduced in the Char’s Counterattack Mobile Suit Variations, the RGM-89S Stark Jegan was later redesigned for Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Developed as a special forces version of the Jegan D Type, the Stark Jegan was built for anti-ship assault missions, featuring enhanced armor, additional thrusters, and optional shoulder-mounted missile pods. Some of its external armor and weapon systems can even be purged during combat, with the mobile suit automatically adjusting its balance afterward.
Thanks to its improved performance, the Stark Jegan was often assigned to platoon leaders and special operations units, where its heavy armament and high mobility made it ideal for difficult missions on the front lines.

Kinda weird it comes with a GM II beam rifle, but otherwise this thing looks amazing and I am definitely getting one.
ReplyDeleteThe GM II beam rifle was standard issue for the Jegan when the suit first came about, it was actually a wide criticism that such advanced suits for their time were issued with old weaponry but hey the feds were trying to standardise and minimise costs at that times as well
DeleteAh. Makes sense. I couldn't find any info on the Wiki or MAHQ on it. Thanks!
DeleteThere is a pic under references in the wiki that shows all the weapons it's bin equipped with.
DeleteNot even 30 minutes passed before it sold out. I'm sure there will be a reissue at some point
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky apparently Bandai extended the number, with kits delivered on april 2023

ReplyDeleteCan they JUST release an MG GMIII already? I don't even understand why the GMII is Pbandai while the Hizak isnt. I'm gonna guess the only reason why the GM got a 2.0 release was to update it and make a Pbandai GMII based on it because of UC.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for any RGM series getting an MG so this is a good, but damned why can't I get any type of Aqua GM or a GMIII?
Bright side, Jesta Intercept incoming, since this backpack is literally all they needed for it.
I really want the GMIII Unicorn Ver. With the Beam Javelin. The GMII should have received a regular release, but it is what it is. I didn't even think of the Shezhar Jesta A-type. That will be cool AF.
