The Gundam Base Japan announces that the titanium finish version of the Real Grade hi-nu Gundam will be released in November 2022, following a considerable delay from its original release date of January 22 due to the pandemic.
This kit became limited and was only available through a lottery sale at Gundam Base locations that participated, including satellite branches. Premium Bandai USA put the item to their pre-order list on November 16th, 2023, to commemorate the opening of the Gundam Base Pop Up store in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Gundam & Scuderia Alphatauri collaboration.
The entire white exterior of the kit is provided with titanium finish while its blue armor parts are coated with metallic finishing. Matte gold plating is used for various joints, leg vernier, and propellant tank base - for a luxurious finish!
This kit is also compatible with the sold separately P-Bandai: RG 1/144 Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher, and P-Bandai: RG 1/144 Fin Funnel Effect Parts for hi-nu Gundam.
The RX-93-v2 was created in the Anaheim Electronics factory near Von Braun. Hi-nu Gundam's basic design was an update of past Gundam Type mobile suits, returning to the basics of Federation-made mobile suits and going against the trend of larger and more complex mobile suit designs at the time. Its most notable feature was a set of six all-range weapons mounted on its back, known as "Fin Funnels", which were capable of both attack and defense. This made it the first full spec Newtype-use Gundam type mobile suit.
Amuro Ray, the Hi-nu Gundam's chief pilot and engineer, also invented the Psycommu system. Initially, the system operated merely as a control mechanism for the Fin Funnels. However, once Londo Bell acquired a Neo Zeon MSN-03-2 Psycho Doga, the Psycho-Frame technology obtained from it was put into the Hi-nu Gundam, enhancing its responsiveness through mind commands. Because of Amuro's changes, the suffix "-2" was added to the RX-93's original model number.
Aside from the Fin Funnels, the Hi-nu Gundam has a pair of head-mounted vulcan guns and a set of custom-made weapons, including a beam rifle, a new hyper bazooka, three beam sabers. The Hi-nu Gundam was developed in three months because to the maturity of movable frame technology, the persistent effort of engineers, and Amuro's own extensive expertise of mobile suits.
