BANDAI SPIRITS is expanding its plastic model production network with the opening of Bandai Hobby Center Osaka in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
Announced on September 16, 2026, the new facility is BANDAI SPIRITS' first plastic model production factory in western Japan and is scheduled to begin operations in November. The facility was established as part of the company's effort to strengthen production capacity and improve logistics efficiency.
Located inside Mitsui Fudosan Logistics Park Sakai, Bandai Hobby Center Osaka has a floor area of approximately 3,360.85 square meters and will be equipped with seven multi-color molding machines.
For GunPla fans, the location is particularly interesting. BANDAI SPIRITS says the Osaka facility will help create a more stable production system while taking advantage of western Japan's transportation network and export ports. The factory will work alongside the company's existing production facilities in Shizuoka.
BANDAI SPIRITS has produced GunPla at the Bandai Hobby Center in Shizuoka since the facility was completed in 2006. The site handles planning, development and production for a wide range of plastic model products, including the Gundam series.
The Shizuoka facility is also known for its custom four-color injection molding machines, which can mold four colors and four different materials in a single mold.
BANDAI SPIRITS expanded its Shizuoka operations again in 2025 with the opening of BHCPDII, the BANDAI HOBBY CENTER PLAMO DESIGN INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE. The adjacent facility focuses on plastic model planning and development, with a museum also opening that year.
Now, Osaka joins Shizuoka as another major part of BANDAI SPIRITS' plastic model production network.
Operations are scheduled to begin in November 2026, adding another major development to BANDAI SPIRITS' expanding plastic model production system.
