THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA To Open In February 2027

Osaka is getting a major new destination for Gundam fans, with THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA officially announced for February 2027.

The new store will open on the 11th floor of LUCUA South in Umeda, occupying approximately 371 tsubo, or around 1,227 square meters. It will be the first THE GUNDAM BASE location in Osaka and one of the largest Gundam Base stores in western Japan.

GunPla, Gundam Goods And Special Exhibits

THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA will offer a wide selection of GunPla alongside apparel, stationery, accessories, snacks and other Gundam-related merchandise.

The store will also feature special exhibits and GunPla building experiences exclusive to the location, giving visitors more to explore beyond the shopping area.

With the store centered around buying, viewing and building, THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA is set to become a major destination for Gundam fans visiting Osaka.

THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA Location

• THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA will be located at 3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka, on the 11th floor of LUCUA South.
• The store is scheduled to open in February 2027, with additional details about its exhibits, GunPla building experiences and opening lineup expected to be announced later.

Osaka Is Also Getting A New Bandai Hobby Center

The timing of THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA's opening comes as BANDAI SPIRITS expands its GunPla production presence in Osaka.

BANDAI SPIRITS announced on September 16 that it will establish the new BANDAI HOBBY CENTER OSAKA in Sakai City, with operations scheduled to begin in November 2026. The facility will be the company's first plastic model production factory in western Japan.

The new facility will have approximately 3,360.85 square meters of floor space and seven multi-color injection molding machines. BANDAI SPIRITS says the facility will help strengthen production capacity and improve logistics by taking advantage of Osaka's transportation and export infrastructure.

That puts two major Gundam-related developments in Osaka within a short period. The new production facility is scheduled to begin operations in November 2026, followed by THE GUNDAM BASE OSAKA in February 2027.
