Tokyo Game Show 2026 is now underway at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment is giving visitors their first chance to experience GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, the upcoming action game centered around the Gundam Helix.

Ahead of the public opening on September 19, the Gundam Official Website has shared a look at the special demo experience available at the event, including a cockpit-style station designed to put players directly into the role of the protagonist Rex.

Step Into The Gundam Helix Cockpit

The special GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT demo station is built around the Gundam Helix itself. A giant display shows the upper body of the mobile suit, while the demo area sits inside its chest area.

Visitors reach the station by climbing onto an elevated deck designed to resemble a maintenance platform inside a mobile suit hangar. The cockpit-style setup continues once players sit down, creating a fitting introduction before the game even begins.

The experience also includes the game's sortie sequence. After selecting a mission, Rex boards the Gundam Helix, receives his briefing inside the cockpit and launches from the battleship's catapult before heading into combat.

That sequence is a major part of the demo, so players who get access to the special station will want to take a moment before jumping straight into the action.

Fast-Paced Combat With Multiple Weapon Styles

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT focuses heavily on close-range combat, with players combining weak attacks, strong attacks, tactical skills and weapon-specific actions.

The weapons also affect how the Gundam Helix moves during combat. Certain attacks allow the mobile suit to move significant distances, opening up opportunities for evasive attacks, acrobatic maneuvers and more elaborate combos.

Another major mechanic is OVER-RISE. Once the gauge is filled, players can activate the ability to greatly enhance the mobile suit's performance and unleash powerful special attacks. Enemy attacks are also automatically avoided during the activation, allowing players to chain together attacks while maintaining the momentum of the battle.

The Tokyo Game Show demo features three weapon presets: Assault Sword Assembly, Whip Sword Assembly and Sword Lance Assembly.

Each setup changes the behavior of attacks, combos and skills, giving players a quick look at how weapon selection can affect the way the Gundam Helix fights.

Machine customization is also one of the game's key features, so the differences between these presets offer an early glimpse at how players can develop their preferred combat style.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT And RG Project GunPla On Display

The GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT booth also features GunPla connected to the game's Collector's Edition and the RG Project, giving visitors plenty to check out beyond the playable demo.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 is open to the public beginning September 19 and runs through September 21 at Makuhari Messe.

For Gundam fans attending the show, GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT offers a chance to climb into the cockpit of the Gundam Helix and experience its combat system firsthand before the game's release.
