Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- Home Release Set for May 2026

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced the long-awaited home release of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, giving fans the chance to relive the theatrical experience at home. The film, which originally premiered as the starting point of the GQuuuuuuX project, will be available in two formats: a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray + Blu-ray set and a standard DVD edition, both launching on May 27, 2026.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray + Blu-ray edition (item number BCQA-0021) is priced at 10,780 yen (tax included) and delivers the most complete package for collectors. The set spans approximately 240 minutes, including the 80-minute main feature on both UHD BD and Blu-ray discs, plus an additional bonus disc running about 80 minutes. The feature is presented in stunning 2160p Ultra High Definition with Dolby TrueHD 5.1ch, stereo options, and full subtitle support in Japanese and English, along with barrier-free accessibility features. The bonus disc includes stage greeting footage, trailers, promotional reels, TV commercials, and special footage originally shown after the film’s theatrical screenings. Fans will also find a special booklet and newly recorded audio commentary that expands on the production and cast insights.

For those looking for a simpler option, the DVD edition (item number BCBA-5197) will also be released on the same day, priced at 3,850 yen (tax included). This version contains the 80-minute main feature plus about a minute of bonus content, presented in Dolby Digital 5.1ch and stereo, with the same subtitle and accessibility support as the Blu-ray set. It also comes with a booklet and includes trailers, promotional reels, commercials, and the same special footage from the theatrical version.
