Great news for those who haven't seen the life-sized moving RX-78F00 Gundam statue at Gundam Factory Yokohama (GFY) as the exclusive installation will be extending its stay until March 31st, 2024!
Regarding the extension of the time period, the GFY project team received an overwhelming request from fans who were unable to attend the event due to the recent pandemic, which have prevented them from visiting Japan. The decision was also made after the consultation with the City of Yokohama and its other stakeholders.
In addition, to celebrate its extension, various initiatives will be developed, such as the "Moving Gundam" commentary program and the continued implementation of customized online backyard tours.
The moving Gundam and its facility, Gundam Factory Yokohama first opened on December 19th 2020. The project have gathered great attention around the globe and have been visited by millions of people throughout its existence.
The 18 m tall "Moving Gundam" at the Gundam Yokohama Factory has been awarded not just one, but two Guinness World Records for the largest humanoid robot and the largest moving Gundam in the world! The World Record Certification was presented on December 3, 2020 to Mr. Yasuo Miyagawa, the CEO of GLOBAL CHALLENGE, who also brought the full-size RX-78-2 Gundam - now RX-78F00 to life by making it move with the help of powered mechanism.
