GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is officially set to launch on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with pre-orders now available.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the upcoming action game introduces an original Gundam timeline where humanity is fighting for survival against a mysterious threat known as the Apocalypse.
Players take control of RE-X, an ace pilot who operates the Gundam Helix, alongside Vii, a Haro unit designed to assist the mobile suit.
The latest Release Date Announcement Trailer gives us a closer look at the game's high-speed combat, new characters, customized mobile suits, and several new mobile suits that will appear throughout the story.
Combat takes place across both ground and aerial environments, with the Gundam Helix offering plenty of customization options. Players can equip different weapons, frames, thrusters, and Apocalypse Units (AP-U), as well as customize the mobile suit's colors.
Each weapon also has its own actions and skills, giving players plenty of ways to tune the Gundam Helix around their preferred playstyle.
Another interesting detail confirmed with the latest information is online co-op for 2-3 players. Bandai Namco has confirmed the feature, although details on which missions will support co-op and how progression will work have yet to be revealed.
The trailer also introduces several characters who will appear throughout the story. Sofia is a mysterious young woman who keeps watch over RE-X, while April serves as captain of the Stellarvane, an independent special-duty vessel carrying out missions against the Apocalypse.
Big Paul leads a group of sand pirates who hunt the Apocalypse and raid wealthy transports to distribute supplies to settlers. Elaine is a knight commander and highly skilled mobile suit pilot who leads her forces on the front lines.
