RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam - Release Info, Box art and Official Images

RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam
Release Date: April 2020
Price: 3,300 Yen

Bandai Hobby division has revealed the CG prototype of the Real Grade Force Impulse Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny anime series! It is announced to be released in April 2020 for 3,300 Yen.

The whole body and inner framing is provided with entirely new molded parts. Bandai Spirits also aims to give this kit a better stability compare to other Gundam SEED / Destiny RG kits.

This kit's release also marks the celebration of the Gundam Seed Destiny's 16th anniversary.

New CG prototype images reveals that the Force Silhouette pack flight system can be folded backwards or flipped if not in use.

Combination gimmick of Core Splendor, Chest Flyer, Leg Flyer, and Force Silhouette can be performed in this kit. The inner framing is separated in different segments so modelers won't have any problem when separating and combining the Force Impulse back together.

A large range of movement for its waist part is provided, ensuring that every turn and twist of its body won't have any problems. Articulation for the leg part is also extended to perform some transformation gimmick when going in to the Leg Flyer mode.

  1. Well, so much for Windam. Hope the Core Block has gotten better since GP01. Looking forward to it!

    2. Wasn't when I posted that. Just, wow. Lot's of awesome kits announced right after I went to sleep.

  2. Damn, now I can see what will be released as pbandai: sword impulse, blast impulse, destiny impulse, impulse blanche etc etc. We are done.

    1. Yeeep. Exactly. I just want RG infinite Justice. Sadface

  3. Will it reuse strike rg frame? Given that impulse has core fighter maybe partially

    1. bruh why would you even think of that, I mean the common thing they have is the colors, but structurally they're pretty different

    2. Bandai hasn't been reusing frames for their latest batch of RG's (probably having learned their lesson from the Sinanju), and given the type of articulation the Impulse needs for its Flyer gimmicks it's bound to be a completely new frame.

    3. What is it with the complaints about the sinanju??
I've built all the RG kits, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

      Delete
    4. @Sral94, they are talking about the first batch of Sinanjus that came out. Bandai later revised it

      Delete
    5. Same here and I can promise you the sinanju uses the mk2 frame and its such... too much weigh on the joints.

      Delete
    6. How to differentiate whether the RG sinanju is first batch or later release? What changes of it? Thank you in advance

      Delete
    7. Did they actually revise the Sinanju? And what did they revise?

      Delete
    8. Afaik, no revisions were made for the RG sinanju. Saw a friend built one and the content is still the same as the day it was released. But do enlighten me if it were true as I would like to add it to my collection

    9. Mine was a pre-order. So it's highly unlikely it's a revision model.

This is why I can't understand why people have a problem with it.
It's solid as any other RG (except the first few who fall apart quite easily)
I'd put it above the unicorn.

    10. Seen the updated description, thank god they put a fully new mold for the whole frame

  4. I hope that this means Bandai will make RG Destiny Impulse soon. That would be cool!

  5. Here is a big middle finger on our face for those who purchased the HGCE set...

    1. Not everyone like rg although same 1/144 scale.

    2. Yeah I usually prefer HG over RG and in fact the only RG I ever bought was the recently released RG Nu Gundam.... (Planning on getting RG Sazabi at a later time)

      Delete
    3. The HG dwellers are most probably not buying RGs though, so you missed your mark.

      Delete
    4. HGCE is custom kit heaven. The backpack use universal 3mm joints which you can even pair Destiny wings or Aile pack on Impulse.

      Delete
    5. Not really. While HG has fewer details, it's much more solid than RG. Just customize HG and you will get solid kit with details rivaling RG.

      Delete
    6. That's true for old RGs, but every RG from the RG Unicorn onward has been leagues better than any HG in most, if not all aspects. That includes build solidity and detail.

  6. I really hope they won't give this one an old early inner frame just like the previous rg kits

  7. Damn cant we get some zeon kits, how about a rg dom, acguy, hygogg.... I know some people would go bananas for this

    1. RG Gouf should've been easy, just use RG Zaku's inner frame and improve upon it. But alas, Bandai is Bandai.

  8. What are the odds that the RG Blast Impulse is going to be P-Bandai?

  9. one day we'll get thunderbolt rgs,one day...

    1. Ooh yes mate, especially Atlas. I guess it is possible, we just have to wait.

    2. Really hope we'll get a RG Kshatriya first.

  10. Does this mean that Sword & Blast Impulse will be P-Bandai? Does this also mean Bandai is going to make a new MG for Force, Sword, and Blast?

    1. I sure hope so. They're are many better suits I want made into RG's.

      Delete
    2. What's with that logic? We get RG Unicorn/Strike Freedom/GP01 but still no MG 2.0 so what's your point?

      Delete
    3. @SavviMaple a.k.a. the Water Jutsu SixTwoNine Hello, nice try talking to another dummy acount of yours roflmao

      Delete
    4. Given the fact that they're releasing an RG Impulse in April, and they literally just put out the P-Bandai MG Blast Impulse this month, the likelihood of an MG Impulse 2.0 any time soon is very unlikely.

    1. Probably an option, I also reckon it's possible for there to be a 'core block' option since the RG line since to promote very stable builds from the latest releases (Unicorn, Nu, Crossbone, Sazabi etc.)

  12. This might be my first RG. This might be the beginning of the transition to true mini MGs and I'm pumped.

    1. It already begun with RG's like Sazabi and Nu Gundam which abandoned the early concept of RG's with pre built inner frames.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, RGs since Tallgeese are like mini MG and they are awesome.

  13. I really dislike the decision to move from the pre-built inner frame to one that you build yourself. It means that fewer runners are used for the outer armor, resulting in a less complex build and less varied shades of white. Remember when RGs had three different tones of white and multiple other colours?

and it seems to be coming at the expense of the detailed frames of the MG line. The zaku warrior's frame was so incredibly bland and bare.

    1. I'll take the new frame vs the old ones anyday though. Stability vs what? Also I dont think the innerframe has something to do with the different tones of armor. Less details? What other kit vs what?

    3. Less complex? Looking at sazabi and nu, the build complexities are still challenging. I think bandai itself realize relying too much on advance joint frame will make the kit more fragile, that's why they only utilize advance joint in the place that won't need to move too much, ex: nu's fin funnels and crossbone's x thrusters. And with fewer advance joint, no need for them to recycle same frame structure all over again. Sure, it's unique but too repetitive at early stage of rg.

And about color spearation, dude this impulse still have that, no need to worry.

    4. I don't think there's any connection between the change in design philosophy of the RG line and the "reduction" in the detail of inner frames of the MG line. Plus, so far that claim is based on only one example, if you look at a new kit like the MG Barbatos, you can see that isn't true. The pre-built inner frame of the old RGs was an interesting concept, but the resulting kits were very unstable. Ever since they abandoned the pre-built inner frame as their basis, every RG since then has been groundbreaking in terms of build quality, and structure. Besides, the MG Zaku Warrior is a grunt suit that will be getting plenty of variants. Bandai doesn't tend to give next level detail to the inner frames of kits like those anyways.

  14. I'm perfectly fine with this change. If it means rock solid kits, sign me up. It is a shame about the multiple colors being gone but maybe it's temporary? There are two shades of white plus purple on the legs if its any consolation. Not a fan of that. Kit looks sharp otherwise.

  17. you know the only reason why bandai brought back the impulse for rg is because it has crap ton of p bandai potential
