The latest issue of Monthly Hobby Japan celebrates the return of Gundam SEED MSV after 20 years, alongside the launch of the new official side story, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV!
Released in Japan on October 23, 2026, for 1,980 yen (tax included), the December 2026 issue features two newly revealed mobile suit variants, complete with mechanical designs, setting information, and custom GunPla builds by professional Japanese modelers.

Both variants are simplified production configurations intended for operation by organizations outside COMPASS. Their mechanical designs are based on the work of Kunio Okawara and other designers, with mobile suit setting information by Shigeru Morita of Studio Nue.
The issue also revisits the original Gundam SEED MSV and Gundam SEED DESTINY MSV series, featuring new GunPla builds of mobile suits using kits that were unavailable when the original designs were published.
As a special bonus, the magazine includes a 116-page, full-color reprint of the original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED MSV articles published in Hobby Japan from January 2003 to May 2004, restored using high-resolution scans.
More mobile suit setting information for Gundam SEED FREEDOM MSV is scheduled to begin appearing on the official Gundam website in November 2026.
