The RX-78F00/E Gundam from Expo 2025 Osaka may return in the future through a possible relocation project in Osaka Prefecture.
According to a report from The Japan Times, buildings, materials, artworks, and equipment from Expo 2025 Osaka are now being reused across Japan as part of the event’s sustainability efforts.
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition has been accepting applications from local governments and organizations looking to reuse resources from the Expo following its closure on Yumeshima Island in Osaka Bay.
One of the largest reuse efforts involves the Expo’s iconic Grand Ring structure, with its lumber being repurposed for reconstruction and public projects across more than 20 prefectures.
For Gundam fans though, the most interesting part of the report involves the life-size RX-78F00/E Gundam that stood beside the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION during Expo 2025 Osaka.
According to the article, the municipal government of Izumisano City in Osaka Prefecture is currently seeking to acquire the massive Gundam statue and relocate it near a major railway station in hopes of attracting tourists and visitors to the area.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but the possibility alone is already getting attention from Gundam fans online. Many are hoping the RX-78F00/E will once again become a major Gundam attraction in Japan following its removal after Expo 2025 Osaka.
The RX-78F00/E itself already has an interesting history, as it was rebuilt from the former moving Gundam featured at Gundam Factory Yokohama before appearing once again for Expo 2025 Osaka.
If the plan moves forward, the RX-78F00/E may soon return as another must-visit Gundam landmark for fans traveling across Japan.
