MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam Real Type Color - Release Info

Bandai Spirits has announced that they will be releasing a real type color version of the MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam and MG 1/100 Justice Gundam to celebrate the upcoming release of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom film in 2024.

Bandai Namco officially announces that both the MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam Ver. 2.0 (Real Type Color) as well as the MG 1/100 Justice Gundam (Real Type Color) will be available for a limited time in mid-October via the Premium Bandai and Gundam Metaverse EC Store as limited GunPla “Gundam NEXT Future Digital” models. The kits will be released in January 2024, with price tags of 5,500 yen and 5,830 yen respectively.






Kunio Okawara had also released some of his own illustrated images showing the color schemes for both Gundam's real type color version through the Gundam SEED Freedom special site for the "Real Type" project.

Kunio Okawara's version of Freedom Gundam (Real Type Color) features a green color scheme with matching real type decals, while the Justice Gundam features a blue color scheme with matching real type decals.






Along with the GunPla release, Mobile Suit Gundam G Frame FA Freedom Gundam (Real Type Color) & Justice Gundam (Real Type Color) mini figures were also announced for release via Premium Bandai in December 2023 for 7,250 Yen for the set.

Metal Robot Spirits version will also be announced on a later date.

The upcoming film will also feature mechanical designs of Kunio Okawara, along with Kimitoshi Yamane Junichi Akutsu, Kazutaka Miyatake, Shiba Zen, Takuya Io, Manabu Shintani, and Hiroyuki Taiga.

  2. Now, THESE are the types of kits that should be P-Bandai. But with what they've been doing lately, you never know.

    If by some chance these end up being retail releases, I'm not gonna lie: I'll be more than just a little annoyed.

  3. I would be pretty happy if the guns on the wings were like the art. I didn't really like the super pointy, multi fin, extendo cannon.

  4. A part of me wonders why Bandai doesn't make Real Type colors for all the other main Gundams and mobile suits, like a Real Type Color Gundam Exia or God Gundam. I understand that the Freedom and Justice Gundams are getting special treatment because it's Gundam Seed's anniversary, but I'd like to see it for the other Gundams.

  5. I change my earlier statement. The Freedom looks much better in physical form and the Justice doesn't look as good now.
