  1. sadly its just a novel. but gladly they are releasing kits for this series already! Twilight gundam would be perfect name for that unit.

  2. The design is ok. it looks like a slim version of gundam ALEX

  3. Gundam Tristan is great name. are we getting revive for Gundam ALEX as well?

  6. apparently its just a remold of the nu gundam

    1. It's a post Nu Gundam with some Alex thrown in there

    2. I'm afraid this is not even a remold of the HGUC Nu Gundam but just a HGUC Alex which has less articulation.

  7. Does this model/MS-design really not have ALEX-style forearm guns? That's a pity if it doesn't!

    1. Maybe it will have leftover parts for the guns, but I doubt it.

  8. It is a retool of ALEX, Don't believe me, take a close look at the shoulder joints

  9. Too bad about that forearm, I thought it had a folding machinegun like the Alex but it seems like that's not the case.

  10. Only Bandai can make you pay top dollar for a rehash of a 13 year old model. Gee whiz bandai I sure do love my gunpla to have 13 year old archaic joints and garbage pose ability. All these suckers will eat it up too.

    1. This is just embarrassing. I noticed the odd joints, hands, and shield mount when we first saw the prototype images. The old Alex was a decent kit for its time, but retooling it this many years later? Such a disappointment. If they had given it the proper modern treatment it would have been a phenomenal kit. What were they thinking?

  11. This Nu Alex isn't just for show. It's 2017 and we're still getting HG's that have the shield on the side of the arm that can't bend.

  12. I hated it at first but I don't know why but I've grown to love it with all of its faults. It's a beautiful and simple Gundam. Takes me back to the Mk-II.

  13. the kit looks nice though the torso should have been thinner like in the line-art.

  14. From the looks of the cockpit, joints, shield mount, and hands it looks like its gonna reuse the HGUC Alex's "A" plate. Its a multicolored runner so I'm betting they'll remove the non-grey parts.

Aside from reusing a key plate from a really old kit, I'm really frustrated with the single colored rifle... I mean the Nu Gundam's rifle is nearly identical and it was molded in two colors!

The sheer laziness of this kit is making my head hurt. Why make this modern take on an old design so antiquated gunpla wise?

    1. Bandai really miss the oportunity from not releasing tristan as modern kit, but reuse HGUC alex as base. If they make tristan as modern kit, it'll easier for them to make HGUC Alex revive. This one more suited for p-bandai, like that red zaku III kai. Oh well.....

  15. bandai's modeling department has been lacking these recent years... they need to set their priority and listen to the customers, no wonder bootlegs are winning

    1. Look at at the joints of that kit! LIKE WHAT THE HELL IT'S 2017. Single colored rifle yuck! With the recent bootlegs of Metal builds, bootlegs are winning.

  16. They aren't even trying to hide it is using HGUC Alex's A plate. Hey look, Tristan's waist has the build in escape pod just like the Alex's. Don't worry, it has zero waist bend because of that.

  17. Everyone keeps saying that it looks hat it looks like the Alex, and totally agree, but after looking over my Fix Figuratiiom collection this evening, it became totally apparent that this also works as the precursor to the F90. And after reading up on what people have been saying about the books, it's Twilight Axis is supposed to function as the segue between Axis/Zeon and Crossbone Vanguard, so… F90 FTW!

    1. The MS is actually directly linked with Alex from the development line, it's not just a similar design. Thing is, the kit uses that as an excuse to reuse the old HG Alex as a base, so it's a kit made in 2017 with 2004 technology.

    2. They could just make a new kit and use the mold to make a new alex. They did that before with the strike but why not now.

    3. Bandai doesn't seem to want to be putting much backing into Twilight Axis at all. Seems like it's going to be a small thing and all the mobile suits that are expected to be in the show already have a kit made. So Bandai just thinks retool and update, no need for new kits?

      Delete
  18. I might still buy one but jesus christ, this kit has really been showing how disappointing it is, and it's not even released yet. Reusing the clearly dated HGUC Alex which also needs an update, and the laziness of not even having rifle color separation, and missing obvious details that are on the MS like the cockpit and the ankleguards. I still might pick this up, but it's priority has been bumped low due to these terrible design choices.

    ReplyDelete
  19. One last plea for the Tristan, oh please Bandai. It's a nice mobile suit, I don't think it would be that much to ask maybe? To possibly add newer joints to it and make the beam rifle upper receiver molded in blue. Oh and some missing details like on the ankle guards. Barely noticed y'all updated the cockpit hatch so y'all do listen to some feedback I assume. For the 1st release of this new show, please make it a good one.

    1. Reason they're not putting any effort if at all is because they've stated they're not confident in the show selling.

Alas, once a kit's been designed, it's not changing. HG Tristan will be a disappointing release.

  20. Such a lazy design, I'm really disappointed.
