The 30th anniversary celebration of Mobile Suit Gundam X continues with a new soundtrack collection arriving September 16, featuring brand-new Gundam X artwork by renowned mecha illustrator Hidetaka Tenjin.
Titled Mobile Suit Gundam X ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION VA, the three-CD release collects a large selection of music featured in the 1996 anime, including soundtrack pieces and theme songs composed by Yasuo Higuchi, along with songs by artists such as ROMANTIC MODE and Warren Wiebe.
The limited edition comes in an LP-style jacket featuring Tenjin's newly drawn Gundam X artwork. Hidetaka Tenjin is also known for his work on the box art for Bandai's Master Grade GunPla lineup.
The release also comes with several store-exclusive bonuses in Japan. A-on STORE will offer a clear jacket, Amazon will have a mega jacket, Seven Net Shopping will include an acrylic coaster, and Rakuten Books will offer an acrylic keychain. The bonuses are available while supplies last.
There is also a special bonus for fans collecting the soundtrack collections for the three 1990s Gundam TV series. Purchasing the Gundam X, G Gundam, and Gundam Wing soundtrack collections will qualify buyers for a set of three acrylic blocks featuring the newly illustrated jacket artwork, packaged in a white box.
The Mobile Fighter G Gundam ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION VA was released July 15, while the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION VA followed on August 19.
