    1. It's just that way due to the CG photos, it definitely won't look like this by the time the crappy dengeki photos come out

  2. Like the muted colors, it looks nice and sharp.

  3. I bought G40, I'm going to buy The Origin, and I guess I'm buying this too since it seems like a more classic take on the G40. Way too many Granddad Gundams this year though.

Also, movable back skirt? Yeah, we need more of that, especially in the Mk-III based kits.

    2. This is a whole new separate version from the ORIGIN Ver.

      1) G40 Industrial Ver.
      2) GUNDAM THE ORIGIN Ver.
      3) BEYOND GLOBAL Ver.

      3 Different Grandpa

    1. As I remember, G40 ver meant to be limited. This one is the intended revised rx-78-2, when G40 is another interpretation which I think meant for collector because its peculiar design. Looks like even bandai knows G40 won't please everyone with it design.

    2. Awh, no one is going to collect that G40 crap, that is why Bandai rushed to produce a new version of it.

    3. i can't even find a g40 anywhere and i planned to buy that for collection's sake..

  10. After the Revive did we really need another RX-78-2? We're also getting the Origin HG right after the G40 one too!

  11. Oh MY goodness. So I was right, it's a revive revive RX-78 XD Looks fantastic though, definitely wanna snag that thing when it comes out

  12. Nice modern look, however forearms articulation looks excessive. It's nice to have so many rx-78 2 releases but I need more army builder like standard GM, Zaku, Doom and Gelgoog. And 0083 suits revive!

    1. The HG Origin Zaku is basically a Revive HG.

    2. Still waiting for GM revive (GM/GM doesn't count) as well, and actually the mold is there if you look at the ORIGIN MSD GMs such as GM Interceptor.

  13. Yeah g40 was a nice proof of concept for articulation, but the original granpappy design will always be better to me so I'll defo pick this up,

  14. Good luck trying to kitbash this kit. There are only a couple of HGs that had torso-to-shoulder balljoints like that (Example : HG Barzam, Revive Destiny variants, HG Revive Infinite Justice variants, and HG Revive Zeta variants). It's still new, and it limits the customizability with the older kits. Probably a stuff of nightmare for people that trying to kitbashing for the first time.

  15. I'm not feeling the legs for this design: The thighs look too chunky, the knee armor looks like it was taken from the Gundam Universe figure line and the lower legs are really skinny and seem stretched out... I'll be getting "the origin" version thank you. Maybe later down the line I might consider this one. Maybe.

  16. G40, Origin, and Beyond Global versions of the Gundam RX-78-2?! This is really cool!

  17. Is this limited like the G40? Does anyone knows?

  18. The legs almost seem too long on this one.

  19. God this looks awful. The proportions are absolutely terrible. It looks malnourished.

  20. Honestly, it kinda feels like they might've pulled the inspiration for this one from the 1/1 RX-78-2 that was planned for the 2020 Olympics. It definitely works out for us with the better/traditional design.

  21. Looks like they skimped on the accessories. No bazooka this time?

  22. Seems like this kit got a mixed bag from everyone, but tbh, I really like this design of gramps a lot! It hits all of the design spot for me, as it still has the classic feel despite its fierce and modern design retake. another gramps to the shelf!

  23. Remember the 4 Beyond Project images...wonder if Barbatos, Wing, and G-Self will get the same HG upgrade
