The Gundam Base Online: HG 1/144 Gundam G40 [INDUSTRIAL DESIGN VER.] - Release Info

Bandai Hobby has announced that the new Bandai Spirits HG 1/144 Gundam G40 (Industrial Design Ver.) will be available for limited time at the Gundam Base Online Shop.

The reservations starts December 26th 2019 13:00 JST. Item will be shipped in April 2020 for 3,300 Yen.

The Gundam Base physical store in Japan is also carrying the kit for 3,300 Yen from December 14, 2019 while supplies last.

The Gundam G40's release marks the transition of Gundam's 40th anniversary in 2019 to GunPla's 40th anniversary in 2020.

Ken Okuyama's RX-78-2 Gundam [G40] offers variety of new features for the Gundam itself! Including wide range of articulation from head to toe. This kit offers new engineering that represent the RX-78-2 Gundam to another definition.
The kit is provided with never-before-seen gimmicks that gives the kit a unique and solid presentation. The prototype also proves that this collaborative project is not just for show, but to prove once again that GunPla can be taken to different levels of perspective.

Each armors are divided into different segments, giving the kit a great or rather excellent range of articulation. All of the parts were carefully engineered by Okuyama himself, taking inspiration from his previous non-Gundam related works and translated them to the GunPla world, imagining the RX-78-2 into a more realistic presentation.
Okuyama is also known for designing some of Ferrari cars including Enzo Ferrari and Ferrari P4/5.
THIS PROJECT IS PART OF KEN OKUYAMA X GUNPLA 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT.
