Bandai Namco has officially announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, the latest entry in its free-to-play team battle action series. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, with cross-play support allowing players on both platforms to fight together.

Revealed during the Gundam Games 40th anniversary livestream, Battle Operation 3 features upgraded graphics, new combat mechanics, and a larger roster of mobile suits from across the Gundam series.

The game retains the series' signature gameplay, where players take part in online team battles as mercenaries piloting mobile suits. Players can also leave their mobile suits and fight on foot, planting bombs at enemy bases, requesting support fire, and securing important objectives.

Mobile Suits From Gundam SEED Join the Battle

One of the biggest changes in Battle Operation 3 is the expansion of its mobile suit lineup beyond the Universal Century.

The game will feature mobile suits from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED at launch, with Bandai Namco planning to add two to three more Gundam series during its first year of operation.

Mass-production mobile suits will also be part of the lineup, with the BuCUE confirmed as one of the units planned for the game.

New SP Skills and Battle Assist

Battle Operation 3 introduces SP Skills for every mobile suit, giving each unit additional abilities that can help turn the tide of battle.

The game also adds a Battle Assist feature designed to make complex controls easier and help players execute combos more smoothly.

These additions build on the series' team-based combat, where players must work together and make use of their mobile suits' individual strengths.

Upgraded Graphics and Cross-Play

Battle Operation 3 features upgraded graphics compared to Battle Operation 2, with improved mobile suit models, maps, and player avatars.

The game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Steam, with both platforms operating simultaneously and supporting cross-play.

Release Date and Platforms
  • Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
  • The game will be free-to-play, with some paid content. Its official release date has not yet been announced.
Bandai Namco has also announced an early network test for existing Battle Operation 2 players in Japan. Applications open on October 29, 2026, with test sessions scheduled for November 20 and November 22.

With new mobile suits, expanded series representation, and refined team combat, Battle Operation 3 is shaping up to be a major new entry for fans of the franchise's online battles.
