HGBC 1/144 Mercuone Weapon Set - Release Info

HGBC 1/144 Mercuone Weapon Set
Release Date: March 2020
Price: 660 Yen

Another Planet System weapon set appears in the Build Divers Re:Rise model kit series. This set offers new weapons and backpack extension parts for the Mercuone Planet System Gundam.

The new equipment features an underwater combat equipment! It is also combined with winged backpack to give the Gundam some high-speed mobility during any deep sea combat. Also, it has a shield looking attachment that suggests a long-ranged combat weapon that shoots out a harpoon/dart type ammunition.

The HGBD:R 1/144 Mercuone unit will be sold separately to complete the set.

  3. Judging by the armaments (which includes a harpoon), the V-Fin attachment (which is more like a diving gear mask) and the feet (which are made to resemble webbed feet), this looks like an underwater-use armor for the PLANETS System. I'm going to guess Neptune based on this.

    1. 22.11.2019 Update: Huh... Didn't expect it to be Mercury. Maybe because it's the planet deepest in the solar system?

    2. Cuz Mercury in japanese is "suisei" as it means "water planet"... same goes with chinese

  7. Just because you don't like build Fighters don't mean you need to come in here and cry over build divers if you have a problem with this get used to it because there might just B1 named after every single planet

    1. Probably has to do with the Mandarin Naming of Planets.
Mercury's mandarin name is call "Water Planet", similar to Mars's mandarin name being "Flame Planet".

    2. It's the same in Japanese for the early ones, but starts borrowing from Graeco-Roman for the later ones.
      Water - Mercuone
      Metal - Veetwo
      Earth - Earthree
      Fire - Marsfour
      Wood - Jupiterfive
      Ground - Saturnsix
      Sky King - Uranuseven
      Sea King - Neptuneight
      Death King - Plutonine

So maybe Neptune will still be a water based form, just an upgraded one.

    3. That mandarin name makes no sense. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun, so the temperature would be very hot. The water would easily evaporate. I don't know how do they come up with that.

Mars being fiery red is kinda okay, but Mars is also quite cold, sooo........ Welp, I guess Sailor Moon does have that kind of logic.

    4. Eh, it's just a tradition elemental counting system type thing (look up Wuxing if you're interested). They're basically being named "planet 1, planet 2..."

Honestly it's no weirder than naming a burning hellhole of 96% carbon dioxide after a goddess of love or one with a bunch of water orbiting around it after a god of time.
