Greetings from Gundam and Zaku will be Sent From Space this Coming 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games announced on Wednesday (May 15, 2019) that they will have something unique to promote the big event in 2020! By making a micro-satellite that will carries two 10-centimeter mobile suits from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series into the space. Producers are in the planning stage as of the moment and will tease us with images as they go further with the project.

The two models will be the RX-78-2 Gundam, and Char's Zaku II from the Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 series! An iconic comeback from the original Gundam series to continue the celebration of its 40th anniversary.

This project "G-Satellite" is under the production and collaboration of the Universuty of Tokyo and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It will be installed with an electronic bulletin board to display messages and will be sent to the International Space Station via supply ship in March 2020 and will be later launch via ISS just before the games.

"G-Satellite" is programmed to open and deploy the bulletin board along with the models and then take pictures of them with the satellite's built in camera when it enters the Earth's orbit.
