Sunrise Plans for New Gundam Films to Celebrate Gundam's 40th Anniversary

Sunrise announced on Friday during their NYC panel that they are planning to release new Gundam theatrical films every one to two years! The films will be screening in Japan and other countries which will be listed on later dates.

Titles for the films has not yet been determined at this point, but we will be seeing the upcoming project on Sunrise's Gundam 40th Anniversary presentation on November 21, 2018.


As Sunrise's latest project for the year 2018, Mobile Suit Gundam NT will be screening in Japanese theaters on November 30, 2018.

The first 20 minute footage of the anime has also been played at the NYC at the Sunrise panel.

  1. Why do not a compilation movie of Double Zeta? If you cut out all the nonsense, you'd end up with a couple of hours.

    1. There will be a new Gundam movie every 1-2 years, but by my guess there will definitely be some main show at least every year still. However sunrise will probably be focusing a bit of effort on the live action Gundam film....
