  1. How the hell is this not a P-Bandai kit? This of all things should be because it's a straight up recolor of the Unit 1 a different backpack.

    1. There are enough differences between the two that a normal release is actually warranted.
What really perplexes me is P-Bandai'ing the Efreet Custom while the Efreet Schneid is a normal release.
WHY. I know Unicorn is far more popular than both the Blue Destiny VG and manga put together, but the Schneid looks ridiculous (at least to me). In addition, releasing Unit 1 and EC through different channels doesn't make any sense as a business decision, it only frustrates fans and collectors.

    2. The reason the Schneid got retail and the Custom got P-Bandai is because the opposite happened with the RE/100 kits.
      Custom - retail, Schneid - P-Bandai.
Bandai clearly didn't want to screw over the Schneid twice so they made him retail.
I just hope the Nacht that was shown recently won't be P-Bandai.
The Efreet Custom is around £30-50 on eBay. So it's affordable, even for me with my limited budget. ($48-75 for Americans)

  2. lol this thing is a regular release but the HGUC Efreet Custom is P-Bandai and that has more new parts than this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    1. That sounds like Bandai is trying to force people buy a below average kit that wont sell well under p-bandai.

    2. I'm happy this is a normal release, but it adds more insult to the Efreet Custom being P-Bandai :I

  4. I remember when the first blue destiny was announced and people were whining that the unit 2 and unit 3 would be p-bandai. Now that they're not p-bandai you people still whine. There's no pleasing you I swear.

    1. People being the childish people they are just because their fancy upgraded Zaku with Gouf Heat Sabers wasn't a regular release.

    2. Upgraded zaku with blue zaku (gouf) sabers.... you do realize your joke is ruined by thevfact it doesn't look like a zaku and comes after both. Also admittedly the complaining is annoying about this being retail, but then again people kinda seen to forget the original hguc kits were all retail...

  7. This literally should have been P-Bandai. What a waste of normal release space. I love Blue Destiny, but this has gone too far.

  8. People complaining level in this announcement are too d**n high.

  9. About this being mass-release, it just goes to show that Bandai will ALWAYS prioritize Gundam-type suits over grunts or mono-eyes if given a choice for mass-release, since they think it'll sell better.

    1. This is also occurring in the Gundam VS games as well. If a mobile suit doesn't have a recognizable character, isn't popular enough, or isn't an ace custom, then it won't be playable. Sadly, Bandai seems to focus more on recognizable mobile suits like Gundams, rather than the grunts that everyone likes.

  10. Where did that double beam rifle originate from? Is it from the manga?

  11. im happy this a normal release, ignoring all the whining people are doing,im still gonna collect all blue destiny units and since i mangaged to get the efreet kai hg,im gonna be pretty happy with a collection of the 4 suits

  12. Bandai needs to sack their whole PR and Marketing team, JESUS.... they're doing their sales completely wrong

  14. Hey that double beam rifle is the full armor gundam's double beam rifle it would be awesome if bandai decided to make a retail hguc full armor gundam (no the thunderbolt version doesn't count)

  15. Never thought I'd see people complaining about something not being P-Bandai. Usually it's the other way around. I'm excited for this, I got the old BD-3

    1. Bandai's been frustrating lately, especially after the HGUC Efreet Custom and the MG Gundam Wing suits. I don't really remember p-bandai being such a huge deal before these.

I'm usually fine with P-Bandai as long as they're not one of the following:
      1) Main/flagship mobile suits
      2) The suits used by the MC's rival for more than a third of the series or the final battle.
      3) Fan favorites, at least for shows/manga that have ended or games that have been released after a few months or so.

  16. Neat. Didn't expect the double beam rifle. Although one thing has bugged me about the Blue 2/3 units. Why do they keep the ammo packs for the 100mm machine gun on their waists if the gun can't be used in space. Why not equip it with extra thrusters or vents or something...?

    1. In the original Saturn game the BD-3 still used the machine gun on at least one mission- and it was inside a colony, so that somewhat explains the inclusion I guess.

My best guess is that since its based on the Ground Gundam, they figured it would be more trouble than its worth to remove it- especially since all three BD units basically share the same frame- the BD1 just has a GM-type head.

    2. AFAIK Yu's team are rushing time chasing Nimbus to space they didn't prepare anything beside one shuttle and two Balls for space fight. Even Nimbus just paint BD2 so it match his Efreet Custom.

  17. People complaining about this release please just shut up. No one cares about your wishlist.

  18. It took me a while, but I figured out where that double beam rifle came from- its not from the Full Armor Gundam- it's from the RGM-79DO GM Dominance from the Blue Destiny manga adaptation.

Boy, I'd love a kit of that! Its like a combination of the GM Sniper Custom, GM Sniper II, and Pale Rider! How did I miss this awesome GM variant?!
