Jerid: Tristan? Isn't that a boy's name?
ReplyDeleteapparently its just a remold of the nu gundam
ReplyDeleteDoes this model/MS-design really not have ALEX-style forearm guns? That's a pity if it doesn't!
ReplyDeleteIt is a retool of ALEX, Don't believe me, take a close look at the shoulder joints
ReplyDeleteToo bad about that forearm, I thought it had a folding machinegun like the Alex but it seems like that's not the case.
ReplyDeleteOnly Bandai can make you pay top dollar for a rehash of a 13 year old model. Gee whiz bandai I sure do love my gunpla to have 13 year old archaic joints and garbage pose ability. All these suckers will eat it up too.
ReplyDeleteThis Nu Alex isn't just for show. It's 2017 and we're still getting HG's that have the shield on the side of the arm that can't bend.
ReplyDeleteI hated it at first but I don't know why but I've grown to love it with all of its faults. It's a beautiful and simple Gundam. Takes me back to the Mk-II.
ReplyDeletethe kit looks nice though the torso should have been thinner like in the line-art.
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of the cockpit, joints, shield mount, and hands it looks like its gonna reuse the HGUC Alex's "A" plate. Its a multicolored runner so I'm betting they'll remove the non-grey parts.
ReplyDeleteAside from reusing a key plate from a really old kit, I'm really frustrated with the single colored rifle... I mean the Nu Gundam's rifle is nearly identical and it was molded in two colors!
The sheer laziness of this kit is making my head hurt. Why make this modern take on an old design so antiquated gunpla wise?
bandai's modeling department has been lacking these recent years... they need to set their priority and listen to the customers, no wonder bootlegs are winning
ReplyDeleteThey aren't even trying to hide it is using HGUC Alex's A plate. Hey look, Tristan's waist has the build in escape pod just like the Alex's. Don't worry, it has zero waist bend because of that.
ReplyDeleteEveryone keeps saying that it looks hat it looks like the Alex, and totally agree, but after looking over my Fix Figuratiiom collection this evening, it became totally apparent that this also works as the precursor to the F90. And after reading up on what people have been saying about the books, it's Twilight Axis is supposed to function as the segue between Axis/Zeon and Crossbone Vanguard, so… F90 FTW!
ReplyDeleteI might still buy one but jesus christ, this kit has really been showing how disappointing it is, and it's not even released yet. Reusing the clearly dated HGUC Alex which also needs an update, and the laziness of not even having rifle color separation, and missing obvious details that are on the MS like the cockpit and the ankleguards. I still might pick this up, but it's priority has been bumped low due to these terrible design choices.
ReplyDeleteOne last plea for the Tristan, oh please Bandai. It's a nice mobile suit, I don't think it would be that much to ask maybe? To possibly add newer joints to it and make the beam rifle upper receiver molded in blue. Oh and some missing details like on the ankle guards. Barely noticed y'all updated the cockpit hatch so y'all do listen to some feedback I assume. For the 1st release of this new show, please make it a good one.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lazy design, I'm really disappointed.
