Gundam’s 45th anniversary celebration just keeps getting bigger. ONKYO and FITEAR have officially revealed a brand-new collaboration featuring custom and universal in-ear monitors inspired by iconic mobile suits from the Universal Century era.
These are high-end in-ear monitors (IEMs), essentially premium earphones designed for detailed audio listening and custom-fit comfort. The custom versions are molded specifically to the user’s ears, which gives them a unique appearance similar to professional stage audio equipment.
The collaboration includes a total of 14 different designs split between Earth Federation Forces and Principality of Zeon themed models. Fans can choose from units such as the RX-78-2 Gundam, GunCannon, Guntank, Char’s Zaku II, Gouf, Gelgoog, Dom, Acguy, Zeong, and more. Every model features custom artwork and faction-inspired coloring directly integrated into the in-ear monitor shells.
The lineup is divided into several configurations including the K1, K2, and K3 grades. Buyers can choose between full custom versions molded to the user’s ears or universal semi-custom versions depending on preference and budget. Delivery times are estimated at around four months after ear impression submission for custom models and around three months after ordering for universal versions.
What makes this collaboration even cooler is the amount of bonus content packed into each set. The IE-K1 and IE-K2 packages include faction-themed carrying cases, special box packaging, cleaning brushes, cable clips, and ear tips. Meanwhile, the premium IE-K3 version adds a rugged Pelican 1010 case featuring either Earth Federation or Zeon insignia depending on the selected faction.
Collectors are also getting a set of oversized acrylic ear monitor stands featuring mobile suits from the collaboration lineup, priced at 6,000 yen each. Federation fans can choose between the RX-78-2 Gundam, GunCannon, or Guntank, while Zeon fans get an even larger selection that includes Char’s Zaku II, Z’Gok, Gelgoog, Dom, Gouf, Acguy, Zeong, and more. Honestly, these acrylic stands alone already feel like premium display pieces for any Gundam setup.
Pricing for the collaboration starts at 104,500 yen for the K1 Universal IE-K1 model and goes all the way up to 250,000 yen for the flagship K3 Custom IE-K3 version. The premium pricing definitely places these closer to high-end collector audio gear rather than standard anime merchandise, but the attention to detail and customization makes this one of the wildest Gundam anniversary collabs yet.
Between the faction-themed accessories, mobile suit inspired designs, and genuine FITEAR audio hardware, this collaboration feels like it was made specifically for hardcore Universal Century fans who want their Gundam collection to extend beyond GunPla and figures.
