Bandai Spirits has officially revealed the HGAW 1/144 Gundam Ashtaron from Mobile Suit Gundam X, bringing Olba Frost’s powerful mobile suit back in an all-new High Grade format. Scheduled for release in November 2026, the kit will retail for 3,960 yen.

The Gundam Ashtaron has been recreated with updated engineering that allows its signature Atomic Scissors to deploy, store, and move without requiring part swapping. The massive claw weapons remain one of the suit’s most recognizable features, capable of delivering brutal close-range attacks while also housing built-in beam cannons.

The kit can also transform into its high-speed Mobile Armor mode through partial parts replacement, faithfully recreating the Trans System featured in the anime. Despite the bulky appearance of the mobile suit, the Ashtaron was known for its surprising speed and agility, especially in MA form where it could even function as a support platform for the NRX-0013 Gundam Virsago.

Its included Beam Spear can additionally convert into a crossbow configuration, giving the kit even more display options for combat scenes. Alongside the Beam Spear, the release also includes beam sabers, interchangeable hand parts, joint parts, foil stickers, and effect parts.

Originally developed by the Government Reconstruction Committee, the NRX-0015 Gundam Ashtaron was based on the GB-9700 Gundam Belphagor but lacked compatibility with the Flash System. Instead, the suit focused heavily on overwhelming close-range combat through its Atomic Scissors and heavy weapon loadout, making it one of the most memorable designs from Gundam X.
