What a day it was! April 13th, 2024, marked the Philippine Fan's screening of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom at SM Megamall, and I had the privilege of being part of this thrilling one-day event. From the moment I stepped into the mall's cinema, the excitement was palpable. The staff were incredibly efficient, ensuring we all got our freebies in time to settle down for the film. And let me tell you, those little perks were just the cherry on top of a fantastic experience.
The theater was buzzing with energy. I met fans who were on the same wavelength as I am—eager and enthusiastic about Gundam. The cosplayers were in their element, embodying characters with such passion that it felt like they had walked straight out of the screen. Sitting there among them, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of friendship. We cheered together for our favorite characters, each of us bound by our shared love for the series.
The film was excellent, but don't worry, I won't spoil anything. It's something you need to see for yourself. Fortunately, if you missed this event, SM Cinemas will begin showing the film countrywide on April 24th, with further dates to be announced when available. So you still have a chance to experience the magic. The team at Hobby Alley have also organized a block screening day in SM North Edsa for a more personal and comfortable viewing environment. Anyway, as I reflected on the day, I appreciated the freebies I received, which brought back memories of when I first met the show's key characters. As I watched, those memories intertwined with the new ones I was making, as did the never-before-seen characters, right there in that crowded cinema.
I'd want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the day special. Although I was not the organizer, the sense of community and shared delight made me feel strongly connected to everyone present. And to those who stopped to take photos with me, despite the fact that I am not a celebrity, thank you for making me feel like one for a day.
