GunPla Blog 14: GunPla Wishlist and Predictions 2024

As we enter the first half of January 2024, I am excited about sharing my GunPla wish list and predictions for what I expect to see this year! Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Gundam franchise will be spectacular for sure!

Without further ado, let's dig in to some of the most possible GunPla kits that we see releasing this year.

MY PREDICTIONS

The HGAC 1/144 Altron Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series. Given that it is the year of the dragon and the only kit in the P-Bandai Wing series that has yet to be released, it is reasonable to expect a kit to be announced shortly.

Speaking of the year of the dragon, the HGFC 1/144 GunPla series could include the Dragon Gundam from the Mobile Fighter G Gundam series as well! This will be a fantastic release for all of the fans who have been waiting for the kit's upgrading since its first debut in the 1990s.

Our next pick is the HGUC 1/144 Psycho Gundam Mk-II from the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam series. Given that arm parts have been provided for the previously released HGBM 1/144 Typhoeus Gundam Chimera, I believe this kit will be announced soon.

As I indicated in my previous GunPla blog, I believe that the Full Mechanics series will continue into the Gundam SEED Destiny series now that the SEED trio has been released. I can't wait to see what this trio looks like in the FM series!

Full Mechanics 1/100 Abyss Gundam
Full Mechanics 1/100 Chaos Gundam
Full Mechanics 1/100 Gaia Gundam
MGSD Lineup

Another from our predictions is that either the Unicorn Gundam or Wing Gundam Zero EW might join the new Master Grade SD lineup! Premium Bandai expansion of Meteor unit for the MGSD Freedom Gundam and Gundam Barbatos equipment are also some possibilities.

With the recent announcement of the HGUC 1/144 G-Line Standard Armor, I believe it is safe to assume that the G-Line variants: G-Line, G-Line Light Armor, and G-Line Assault Armor will be announced shortly! Including an array of weaponry, as they did with the Standard Armor, would also provide fans with more versions for those who enjoy army building.

MY WISHLIST

Moving to the most anticipated film of the year, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom. Rumors and leaks continue to circulate that an updated Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice Gundam will appear in the film, which should also have a GunPla release.

The photos below are only sketched copies of the "leaked" images from 2023. The final designs will be published as soon as Bandai Namco Filmworks issues a confirmation.

The next item on our wishlist is the MA-08 Big Zam from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. Given the availability of larger kits like the two Neo Zeongs, a 1/144 version of this enormous mobile armor should be feasible. Big Zam is also only slightly larger than the proposed HGCE 1/144 Destroy Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series, with a head height of approximately 59 meters, which is just three meters taller than the Destroy Gundam.

Master Grade Extreme

I've always wanted to explore the MGEX lineup, and I'd want to see a Mobile Suit Gundam 00 entry. I'd gladly take a 00 Raiser if they released one.

Real Grade

The real grade lineup has been really unpredictable for the past few years and I really look forward that they release more from this lineup. I wish that they start looking back at the Gouf, Gundam Ground Type, and GM.

I also personally want to see a Real Grade GP00 and GP02 Physalis in the lineup.

Perfect Grade unleashed Char's Zaku II

With all of the desires for the RX-93 nu Gundam in the PGU roster, I will be taking a somewhat different path and wish for a PGU Char's Zaku instead. It would be great to have the original rivals side by side in the PGU lineup, and an improved version of the 1999 kit would be a bonus!

  1. Some good and realistic predictions right there. It's rather safe IMHO.
I also agree that they should revisit the forgotten RG Gouf.

I'd like to see an RG Dom to be honest and RG Wing Zero, Gundam X and Double X. I'd also take a regular MG Wing Gundam Zero for sure. AAAAAANNNDD the Age FX?!?!?

Bandai has been focusing on their 30 MM and other franchise. GunPla has been really slow these past couple of years. Sad.

  2. RG Physalis would be great, I'd love to see an MG Legilis kit sometime soon though, a long with the FX (seeing as how they just released the spirits figure which looks amazing)

  3. Bro forgot to wishlist RG Wing Gundam Zero TV ver.

  4. I'd definitely love to see more Gundam Age kits, especially the Vagan suits. Aside from that I want Epyon Bai and Epyon Ares (granted Ares would probably look very similar to what we already have, so Bai is good enough)

  5. Would love for p-bandai to drop and RG of the Crossbone X-3 or Full cloth, given we already have the X1 and X2

  6. Not sure if it'll come this year or after the whole Shuffle Alliance gets released, but I'd put good money on a HG Devil Gundam within the next three years.
