Gundam SEED Freedom 5th Trailer Dropped

The official SEED Freedom website has published the fifth and "main" trailer for the upcoming movie Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom. It includes new action shots of Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice Gundam along with further character interaction.

The film will be screening in Japan, nationwide starting January 26, 2024. The film Mobile Suit Gundam Seed is a follow-up to the second Gundam Seed television anime, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, as revealed by director Mitsuo Fukuda.

With this release, the Gundam SEED franchise marks 20 years since it debuted in Japan in 2013. Along with Kimitoshi Yamane, Junichi Akutsu, Kazutaka Miyatake, Shiba Zen, Takuya Io, Manabu Shintani, and Hiroyuki Taiga, Kunio Okawara's mechanical designs will be included in the movie.

The theme song "Freedom" by Takanori Nishikawa (aka T.M. Revolution) and producer t.komuro (Tetsuya Komuro) is featured in the fifth trailer, just like it was in the fourth.

The production team has also presented a fresh image for the film's characters and mobile suits as an added bonus.

Notable works by Takanori Nishikawa include the opening theme for the "SEED series" and the theme song for the 1988 Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack movie, "BEYOND THE TIME." The long-awaited collaboration between Nishikawa and Tetsuya Komuro, an esteemed member of the TM NETWORK whom he greatly admires, produced the song FREEDOM.

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Project Ignited, which was first unveiled in 2021 to honor the title's 20th anniversary, includes this movie. The goal of the project is to tell a longer version of the story from the SEED/Destiny games, which inspired the development of the new video game Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and the manga side story Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse.
