The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED title series celebrates its 20th anniversary with the release of the MS set in 1/144 GunPla series.

The set includes the RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam, RG 1/144 Justice Gundam, and HG 1/144 Providence Gundam. Each model is presented in metallic moldings, and comes complete with a triple action base to securely hold each GunPla in position after it is assembled.

Beginning a broadcast cooperation with the Gundam franchise, the television series was aired in Japan between 2002 and 2003 on the Tokyo Broadcasting System Television and MBS TV networks. The series led to the creation of three compilation movies, a manga, and light novels. A follow-up film, named Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, is slated for release in 2024. A sequel series, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, followed in 2004. Products such as video games, CD soundtracks, and models have been released. In 2004, Gundam SEED started showing in the US and Canada after being granted a broadcast license by Bandai Entertainment for North America. Bandai also had the licenses for the original films and the sequel.

In Japan, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED was a huge hit with the general public, garnering multiple accolades and having strong sales of the series' DVD and soundtrack. With authors emphasizing character development and animation, particularly for the leads, it was also a critical success. Nonetheless, parallels to earlier Gundam series were observed.
