HGCE 1/144 Rising Freedom Gundam
Release Date: January 26, 2024
Price: 2,640 Yen

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom has revealed its GunPla lineup! First in the series is the Rising Freedom Gundam, which is an upgraded Freedom Gundam featuring a transformation gimmick between MS and MA mode.

An novel feature of the HG Rising Freedom Gundam's design is its "SEED Action System." Crafted to imitate the dynamic and stunning action stances seen in the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series, this interior structure is a marvel of engineering. Fans can easily and faithfully reproduce their favorite moments from the series because of the system's meticulous attention to detail, which guarantees that every posture is not only conceivable but also stable and visually attractive.

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom film is slated to hit theaters on January 26, 2024 in Japan. The film will feature mechanical designs of Kunio Okawara, along with Kimitoshi Yamane Junichi Akutsu, Kazutaka Miyatake, Shiba Zen, Takuya Io, Manabu Shintani, and Hiroyuki Taiga.

This film is part of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Project initiative, first announced in 2021 to celebrate the title's 20th anniversary. The project aims to expand the potential of the SEED/Destiny titles by expanding their story, which also led to the development of the new game Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and the side-story manga Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse.

The new shield that the Rising Freedom Gundam is outfitted with is a combination of attack and defense. Using the shield to deploy and clear effect part to attach, fans may reenact major sequences from the film. This focus on narrative detail demonstrates how committed the designers were to making the Gundam universe come to life.

To increase the variety of display possibilities, the model comes with two beam sabers that can be linked in addition to the shield. Another noteworthy feature is the beam shield, which uses "polarized molding." This creative method produces a shield that changes color based on the angle from which it is viewed, giving off a stunning shine that is evocative of the intense Gundam series battles.

The "Hi-Mat Full Burst" mode is another addition that improves the capabilities of the Rising Freedom Gundam. This mode captures the high-stress combat situations of the Gundam series with a number of gimmicks, like the Agni cannon's deployment and the waist rail gun's barrel expansion.

Additionally, the model has a special mechanism in the hip joints that permits the connecting shafts to slide independently. This improves leg mobility, allowing for more daring and dynamic positions. Even for those who would rather not paint their models, the aesthetic appeal of the finished product is enhanced by the color-coding of small pieces using molding color.

A beam rifle, two beam sabers, a shield, a beam shield, a set of effect components, a set of hand parts, joint parts, and a sticker seal are all included in the kit.

The kit is completed with the following accessories and equipment:
  • Beam rifle
  • Boomerang x 2
  • Shield
  • Effect parts set
  • Hand parts
  • Connection parts

  2. It looks like when a teenager gets a nice car (Freedom Gundam) and just starts adding bolt on parts till it looks cluttered and over designed.

  3. Any theories on what those two blue wings/fins are? They kind of look like the top portion of Destiny Gundam's wings. Wings of light?
