Shunsuke Takeuchi to Play Cucuruz Doan in the Cucuruz Doan's Island Movie

Sunrise has announced that voice actor and singer Shunsuke Takeuchi will be playing Cucuruz Doan in the Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan's Island movie! Shunsuke was also known for his works in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Tokyo Revengers, Bakugan Battle Planet, Digimon Adventure tri., and many more!

The movie will be telling a remake and an in depth story of the15th episode of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series that first aired in 1979. The movie was also announced to screen on June 3rd at 185 theaters in Japan, nationwide.

Gundam Info has also revealed Cucuruz Doan's character design, and his mobile suit MS-06F Zaku II Ground Type in an entirely and never-before-seen design.

When Doan escaped during the Earth invasion operation, he continued to use his Zaku II to protect his life and the children he is with by using recovered parts from the mobile suits he had defeated. The overall aesthetics of this Zaku II features asymmetrical parts and some were even peeled off and halfway done. He hides the Zaku II and is only being operated to intercept and incapacitate his enemies when they come.

A former Principality of Zeon Army MS pilot who now lives as a deserter in an isolated island. He lives with the children that he brought with him after he accidentally misfired his Zaku's gun that killed the children's parents. He swore an oath to protect them by bringing them with him, and they started living there as a livestock and dairy farmer. Doan also uses his Zaku II to protect all of their lives from any invasions.
