Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially unveiled new details for the highly anticipated second installment in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway trilogy. Titled Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, the film was featured during the Gundam panel at San Diego Comic-Con International 2025, along with a brand-new teaser visual illustrated by character designer Pablo Uchida. While the artwork has yet to be made public, it marks the latest glimpse into the evolving world of Hathaway Noa.

New Setting: Australia

Producer Naohiro Ogata revealed that the next stage of the story will take place in Australia, continuing Hathaway’s journey across Earth. Due to travel limitations caused by the recent pandemic, director Shukou Murase had reportedly been using a flight simulator to virtually scout the skies above Australia to help guide production.

Theatrical Release Set for Japan and North America This Winter

The studio confirmed that The Sorcery of Nymph Circe will debut in Japanese theaters this winter, with North American screenings also scheduled within the same timeframe. A previous teaser trailer had included mixed release wording—“this winter” in Japanese and “next winter” in English—but the panel clarified that the film is indeed launching globally this winter.

Much of the core creative team from the first film is back. Joining them are several new names, including Yuichi Kuboki, who will co-lead color design alongside Takako Suzuki, and Yoshihisa Ōyama, now serving as the compositing director of photography. Yoshinori Sayama returns to handle display designs after contributing to the original film, and Manabu Kamitōno has taken on visual effects direction. A special message from voice actor Kenshō Ono, the voice of Hathaway Noa, was also shared during the panel.

The Sorcery of Nymph Circe is the second of three planned films adapting Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Hathaway’s Flash novels. The project’s original working title for the second entry was San of Bright—with “San” (サン) playing on dual meanings in Japanese, representing both “sun” and “son,” a direct nod to Hathaway as the son of Mobile Suit Gundam’s Bright Noa.

While the core of the story remains rooted in Tomino’s novels, Ogata noted that the second film will diverge in places, exploring new directions not found in the original books.
