Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially announced that Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urðr Hunt is heading to the big screen as a theatrical compilation film. Revealed during their Gundam panel at San Diego Comic-Con International 2025, this cinematic edition marks the next major milestone for the Iron-Blooded Orphans universe.
Titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urðr Hunt: Path of the Little Challenger, the film will open in Japanese theaters on October 31, 2025. The special edition serves as a re-edited compilation of all 12 episodes originally released via the Iron-Blooded Orphans G mobile app, and it will include brand-new footage created specifically for this theatrical version.
The film is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai, the original director of the Iron-Blooded Orphans series, bringing his vision full circle as he refines the mobile narrative into a streamlined and cinematic experience.
Originally announced in 2019, Urðr Hunt launched within the Iron-Blooded Orphans G app in 2022. The app blended anime and interactive gameplay, telling a side story that ran parallel to the events of the original Iron-Blooded Orphans series. Now, Urðr Hunt steps beyond its mobile roots to offer a definitive edition on the silver screen.
North American Release on the Horizon
While the Japanese premiere is set for Halloween, Bandai Namco Filmworks also confirmed that a North American release is in development, with further details to be announced in the coming months.
