In honor of four decades of the legendary Mobile Suit Gundam series, Bandai candy division has announced a special "Memorial" set inside their Mobile Suit Gundam G-Frame FA (Full Action) candy toy line. This collection, set to hit shelves on April 1st, 2024.

Available through the official Bandai Candy Premium Bandai shop, the 10-box collection, priced at 7,480 Yen, celebrates the series' 40th anniversary with a selection inspired by the pioneering 1979 animation. The set will include four iconic mobile suits from the Gundam universe: the RX-78-2 Gundam, Char's Zaku II, the RGM-79 GM, and the Dom, which can be converted into a Rick Dom. This lineup not only returns to the Gundam series' beginnings, but also gives fans and collectors a glimpse into its illustrious history.

Bandai's G-Frame series is well-known for its elaborate action figurines based on the various mobile suits from the Gundam meta series. Each entry in the line is presented in two distinct sets: the "Armor Set" and the "Frame Set." The Armor Set comprises the suit's armor parts fitted over a static inner frame, offering limited articulation. In contrast, the Frame Set includes the suit's accessories as well as a fully articulated inner frame that allows for dynamic posing and display possibilities.

Initially, the series included a gray bust of the suit's head that could be connected to the frame, but later editions changed to allow the static frame to function as a display stand. A packet of soda-flavored gum is included with each box, adding a pleasant touch to the nostalgic journey.

In a notable move, the line was rebranded in February 2022 as "Mobile Suit Gundam G Frame FA" (Full Action), which improved the collection experience by eliminating the need for instruction manuals. Instructions are now readily accessible for download from the Bandai Candy website, making assembling these elaborate models as pleasant as presenting them.
