Bandai Spirits has once again delighted fans with a glimpse into the future of GunPla. One of the highlights of the Hyper Plamo Fes 2024 was the announcement of the HGUC 1/144 scale model of the PMX-002 Bolinoak Sammahn, a mobile suit with not only the detailed design expected from Bandai but also a rich history from the Mobile Suit Gundam Z series. The intriguing Sarah Zabiarov pilots the Bolinoak Sammahn.
The movable gimmick of the claw component of the "dedicated shield" is extremely detailed, including the beam output part at the tip. Effect pieces can be connected to the grip on the back of the "dedicated shield," replicating the "Beam Tomahawk" and "Beam Saber." The shoulder armor includes a deployment gimmick to imitate firing the "Explosive Bullet Launcher."
A head portion representing the radome's "illuminating state" is included. The radome's characteristic shine is replicated using a replacement type with "reflection cut" and "sticker." The head moves like a ball, and a movable axis at the base of the neck allows it to swing back and forth freely. A pull-out device is fitted on the shoulder to increase the arm's range of motion. The backpack, which is essential for maximum mobility, may move independently thanks to several ball joints.
The Bolinoak Sammahn, created by the genius Paptimus Scirocco aboard the Jupitris, is the third mobile suit to emerge from his grandiose undertakings. Crafted to serve as a seek-and-destroy unit, this mobile suit incorporates advanced surveillance equipment into its head and forearms, demonstrating Scirocco's creative approach to combat. However, the Bolinoak Sammahn's emphasis on monitoring and reconnaissance necessitated a reduction in weapon capability.
Despite its limited capabilities, the mobile suit should not be disregarded. The Bolinoak Sammahn, equipped with two 3-tube rocket launchers positioned on its shoulders, was capable of dealing deadly blows to its foes. Its defensive capabilities are enhanced by a modular shield that serves numerous tasks, ranging from mounting beam sabers and beam tomahawks to holding beam cannons and a 2-finger pincer/grappling unit, assuring the mobile suit's adaptability in a variety of combat circumstances.
The Bolinoak Sammahn saw extensive combat in the latter days of the Gryps Conflict, with Sarah Zabiarov at the helm. The mobile suit displayed its skills during the violent fights at the Gate of Zedan and against the Axis, even when faced with strong opponents such as Haman Karn's AMX-004 Qubeley. However, its trip ended tragically during a confrontation intended to bring down Paptimus Scirocco. Sarah Zabiarov's loyalty to Scirocco led her to sacrifice herself and the Bolinoak Sammahn to save her commander from an attack by Katz Kobayashi, marking a sad moment in the series' backstory.
