Gundam Info's free streaming schedule has been released, announcing that Gundam Build Metaverse will begin streaming on October 6, 2023. Video availability may vary by region.
Gundam Build Metaverse is the latest mini-anime released by Bandai Namco Filmworks to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gundam Build franchise series since its first release, Gundam Build Fighters, on October 7, 2013.
Unfortunately, with the release of Gundam Build Metaverse, six Gundam anime series will be temporarily removed from Gundam Info's free streaming service, starting with Mobile Suit Gundam Wing HG Remaster on October 3rd, followed by all four Gundam Build titles on October 8th, and Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Season 1 on October 13th.
This new build series takes place in an online metaverse space where users interact and move with other users using custom avatars. The Metaverse also features GunPla battle areas where users can engage with each other's custom GunPla.The story revolves around a Hawaiian boy named Rio Hōjō who learned how to make GunPla from a local hobbyist named Seria Urutsuki. In the metaverse, a character named Mask teaches Lady Rio the art of GunPla combat and strives to become better every day.Rio uses his Lah Gundam, a custom GunPla based on the Entry Grade RX-78-2 Gundam and themed around the "Spirit of Japan", with the name Lah being derived from the native Hawaiian word for "sun".
The miniseries will also debut during the upcoming test launch of the Gundam Metaverse virtual space which will be available in Japan and USA starting October 6th. More details here.
