"Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" theatrical version along with "Gundam Build Metaverse" will be released during the fiscal year.
During Bandai Namco Group's fiscal year presentation on May 10, it was announced that a film project for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed is scheduled to take place before the end of Bandai Namco's fiscal year in March 2024.

The film project will come under the umbrella of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project Ignited, which was first announced in 2021 to commemorate the franchise's 20th anniversary in 2022.
While there are no further announcements regarding the upcoming film project, Bandai Namco has been spreading commemorative and Seed franchise collaborations around the world and in Japan with the vision of expanding the title. A new video game is also in development for the new project.
Apart from that, Gundam Ace Magazine also published the side story manga Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse in Japan and internationally as a Gundam.info motion comic.
The project also includes the construction of the Freedom Gundam ver. GCP at the LaLaport shopping complex in Jinqiao Town, Shanghai, China, also to commemorate the Gundam China Project in 2021.
Bandai Namco is also commemorating the franchise's success by releasing new GunPla models related to the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed/Destiny titles, including the release of the MGEX Strike Freedom Gundam and the MGSD Freedom Gundam.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed first aired in Japan in 2002 and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny followed in 2004. Like most Gundam titles, it was expanded with several side stories including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer, a three-episode ONA directed by Susumu Nishizawa and written by Shigeru Morita, and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray, a manga by Tomohiro Chiba published in 2002 with illustrations by Koichi Tokita.

Honestly I'm doubtful, because this whole multi-media project including the film was announced in 2006 as ' "X" plosion GUNDAM SEED ' and 17 years later Eclipse, the statue, etc. is about all we've gotten. Still no film. The "Ignited" reannouncement similarly is 2 years ago now, and we've still got no film. And this entire latest round of talk of the movie is again just from a Bandai Namco fiscal report, which promises it by March 2024, aka end of fiscal year. This isn't like Build Metaverse where Obari and his team already have already moved into production and we have posters, mobile suit designs, and so on. I'm honestly not even sure the SEED movie was just stuck where it was in the fiscal report, after a number of other projects that are happening, so they could write it off next year if it doesn't actually happen. So yeah, will believe it when I see it.

ReplyDeletedon't get me wrong though, the mobile suit designs in seed series are great and iconic.
I wonder if they would keep the original staff. I guess the wait will not be that long now.
