Gundam SEED Freedom Film First Teaser Dropped

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series' most anticipated film from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Project Ignited is finally coming to reality. The first teaser trailer showcases new animation and numerous glimpse of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne.

The latest installment will be theatrically released on January 26th 2024 in Japan.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed director Mitsuo Fukuda is also directing the upcoming film. He also co-wrote the script along with his late wife Chiaki Morosawa and Liu Goto (Gundam SEED manga).

Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Seed Destiny) is leading the character designs in the film.

The film will also feature mechanical designs of Kunio Okawara, along with Kimitoshi Yamane Junichi Akutsu, Kazutaka Miyatake, Shiba Zen, Takuya Io, Manabu Shintani, and Hiroyuki Taiga.

During Bandai Namco Group's fiscal year presentation on May 10, it was announced that a film project for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed is scheduled to take place before the end of Bandai Namco's fiscal year in March 2024.

The film project will come under the umbrella of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project Ignited, which was first announced in 2021 to commemorate the franchise's 20th anniversary in 2022. It was also confirmed that the film is set as a sequel to the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny.
