Bandai Spirits and Premium Bandai adds the Gundam F90's unit 2 to the line up, sharing the same molds with the P-Bandai exclusive release MG 1/100 Gundam F90 kit featuring a completely different color scheme! That being said, all available equipment and mission packs for Gundam F90 are all compatible with the unit 2 as well.
The kit is also completed with its equipment, that includes its beam rifle, beam saber, and shield! Also packed with a sheet of water slide decals for detailing.
The Gundam F90 is a cutting-edge prototype developed by the Strategic Naval Research Institute as part of the "Formula Project," which aimed to create more compact mobile suits. With a height of 14.8 meters, the Gundam F90 is considerably smaller than the traditional RX-78-2 Gundam, which stands at 18 meters. This downsizing was made possible by utilizing a micro-honeycomb structure from Yashima Heavy Industries, making the armor and frame much lighter. Despite its reduced size, the Gundam F90 features a reactor that outputs 1.5 times the power of earlier mobile suits. Its 51 attitude control thrusters provide exceptional agility and maneuverability. Three Gundam F90 units were built and designated as Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 3.
A standout feature of the Gundam F90 is its ability to integrate Mission Packs, specialized attachments that connect to 11 hardpoints on the mobile suit's frame. This modular system allows for a wide variety of mission configurations and the easy swapping of equipment to suit different operational needs. Each unit is equipped with a unique pseudo-personality computer to manage these packs: Unit 1 employs the Type-A.R., Unit 2 uses Type-C.A., and Unit 3 incorporates Type-K.B. Standard armament for the Gundam F90 includes a pair of head-mounted vulcans, a beam rifle, two beam sabers, and a shield.
