With multiple kit releases, the 16th anniversary of "Gundam SEED Destiny" in 2020 represented a noteworthy milestone. As hinted at in the NEXT PHASE GUNPLA advertising image, the Windam has proven to be a noteworthy addition to the High Grade Cosmic Era series among them. Notable features of the Windam model kit include its entirely new mold and sophisticated color separation, which add to its appeal.

The availability of this kit came as a nice surprise to Windam enthusiasts, since many had not expected it to. The model has a well-rounded weaponry consisting of a jet striker, a shield, and a beam rifle. Compatibility with different striker packs, which represents the series' standard equipment replacement mechanism, is one of the Windam kit's primary features. Specifically, the Jet Striker pack is adaptable and has many folding positions to accommodate various uses.

The FINE BUILD joint structure system, which makes building easier, particularly when building numerous components of the same type, is another noteworthy feature of this kit. As a reflection of the continuous innovation in GunPla design and engineering, this technology was first installed in the HGAC Leo as part of the GunPla evolution project phase 4. With its sophisticated features and simple construction, the Windam kit not only honors the history of "Gundam SEED Destiny" but also marks a significant advancement in the GunPla community.

GAT-04 Windam

The Windam first appeared in November of C.E. 73, just after the Second Alliance-PLANT War was declared, when a squad outfitted with Multi Striker Packs was dispatched to wipe out the PLANT Colonies at the fight of Aprilius One. However, ZAFT's Neutron Stampeder killed them all, along with their backup fleet. Subsequently, Windams fitted with the Jet Striker were sent to counter ZAFT's "Operation Spear of Twilight," which involved the dropping of several mobile suits on Earth in order to strengthen their bases in Gibraltar and Carpentaria. Windams were also used in the majority of the Earth Alliance's subsequent major operations on the planet, including the battles of Heaven's Base and Orb, as well as in an unsuccessful effort to attack ZAFT's battleship, Minerva, as it exited Orb jurisdictional seas.

The 81st Independent Mobile Group "Phantom Pain" was commanded by Neo Roanoke, who flew a customized Windam with a striking dark gray and purple color scheme. During Operation Ragnarök, Windams were also utilized by the regenade Earth Alliance forces that joined with ZAFT after the presence of Logos was disclosed. In the final month of the Second Alliance-PLANT War, the Earth Alliance also made extensive use of Windam in space, either with the Doppelhorn Striker or without any Striker Pack.

Windams were employed to safeguard the Daedalus Lunar Base's Requiem superweapon's emitter and relay sites. Many Windams fought against ZAFT in the Battle of Messiah as members of the Earth Alliance troops that sided with the Three Ships Alliance at the end of the conflict.

  1. I don't even care that Neo's will be P bandai the fact this exist is a dream come true. Maybe there is still hope for the Strike Dagger and GuAIZ after all.

    1. Ngl, it's looking like they're single jointed. However they might have designed it to be a simple army-builder kit like the Leo, Maganac, or Death Army kits, but with more accessories.

  3. Been waiting for this for over a decade! I never understood why the both the Windam and Strike Dagger were overlooked in the model department. The HG line has no EA grunts.

    3. Yeah I am a great fan of the Strike Gundam-line as I love Striker Packs.

Here is hoping they release HGCE Dagger L, and do a Revive of Strike IWSP (it's ok if Strike Rouge)

    4. Here's hoping! I know they're old but I'd love it if they made it compatible with the old striker packs even if it can't mount the shoulder equipment.

  4. Hype for Windam! Also hoping we get HGCE Strike Dagger soon and possibly HGCE 105 Dagger Revive soon.

  5. I'm super excited for this, my love of GM-types knows no bounds, but I'm really worried about color separation. The quick build types they've released so far have been great in that regard but they've been simple designs. Oh, and no Stiletto, Wurger pod, or fuel tank in the pictures we've seen so we're probably not getting all the Windam's equipment but I'm used to that in High Grades by now.

Even so I agree with the general sentiment of the comments thus far: Yay! Please make Daggers! Lot's of Daggers!
