Premium Bandai (P-Bandai) has announced the release of a unique accessory kit designed to take the METAL STRUCTURE nu Gundam to new heights of realism and complexity. The METAL STRUCTURE Fin Funnel for nu Gundam, which is only available through the Tamashii Webshop, is expected to be a must-have accessory for owners of the already stunning METAL STRUCTURE nu Gundam.

The METAL STRUCTURE Fin Funnel set will be reissued in April 2024 with a price of 27,500 Yen. For collectors in the United States, P-BANDAI USA will release the set in May 2024 for $260 USD. Mark your calendars: pre-orders will commence on February 13th at 10:00 PM EST, exclusively through P-Bandai's online store.

This fin funnel set, designed as an expansion to the METAL STRUCTURE nu Gundam (available separately), is meticulously crafted, providing a level of detail hitherto unseen in Gundam models and figures. This bundle includes:
  • Six beautifully crafted fin funnels.
  • A connecting joint set for smooth interaction with the Nu Gundam.
  • A display rack for the fin funnels that can be connected to the hangar base of the METAL STRUCTURE nu Gundam
Each fin funnel has been given a fresh look and enhanced detailing that surpasses any existing models or figures of the nu Gundam, providing an unparalleled aesthetic and a sense of dynamism to the already iconic mecha design.

This exclusive expansion set not only enhances the METAL STRUCTURE nu Gundam's display presence, but also delivers a new degree of personalization for collectors. The added fin funnels offer an extra layer of realism, making the assembled model a true focal point of any Gundam collection.

The fin funnels, a distinctive element of the nu Gundam, are praised for their strategic relevance in Gundam history, serving as remote weapons that significantly improve the mobile suit's fighting capabilities. This kit enables fans to fully understand the nu Gundam's potential by displaying its power and elegance in a static setting.

Bandai's ambitious effort to produce the ideal collector mecha figure is represented by the Metal Structure Kaitai-Shou-Ki line, which features well-known robots from numerous anime episodes. This line stands out not only for its meticulous attention to detail but also for its dedication to employing premium materials, with a particular emphasis on diecast metal components. This material selection enhances the figures' weight and feel as well as their durability and visual appeal, giving them a high-end look and feel that is easily identifiable.

In contrast to conventional action figures that emphasize playability and articulation, the Metal Structure Kaitai-Shou-Ki line emphasizes a distinct facet of collectibility: the exquisite mecha design that is frozen in a single instant. These figures offer a degree of realism and intricacy that will satisfy even the most discriminating collectors, with far more parts and richer detailing than any of Bandai's prior releases.

The Metal Structure Kaitai-Shou-Ki line prioritizes fine detail over mobility in its design approach. Although there is some movement to the figures, the main goal is to replicate the mecha designs as closely as possible while maintaining a high level of authenticity and depth. This method makes it possible to create a display piece that pays true tribute to the mechas' original designs, making them the ideal focal point of any collection.

Though officially non-scale, every figure in the range is designed to mimic the presence and scale of its 1/60 scale Gunpla counterparts. This decision makes the figures an appealing alternative for collectors who value uniformity in their displays because it guarantees that they keep a steady size that blends in smoothly with existing collections.

One of the distinguishing characteristics of the Metal Structure Kaitai-Shou-Ki line is the utilization of diecast metal components, which is a deviation from the conventional action figures and model kits' mostly plastic components. This greatly improves the figures' visual impact in addition to giving them a heavier, more realistic feel. Plastic just cannot match the amount of detail and quality that the metal parts offer, from the cool touch of metal to the delicate reflections of light on the surface.

  1. Cor' blimey. Separate release for the Funnels? making money to two sets, may as well combine the set and sell it for an arm and a leg sinces it's gonna be the same!

  2. You can't have a Nu Gundam without funnels. Low blow, Bandai...

  3. Aw man, the Fin Funnels are part of the Nu Gundam Bandai!

  4. Everyone: We want a PG Nu Gundam!

Bandai:So have this overpriced action figure with separate P-Bandai Fin Funnels!

    1. You do realise that product development and manufacturing for Metal Builds is completely independent from the Gunpla line, right?

And that Metal Build Nu and the Fin Funnels are also both sold out.

  5. Saw the review of the kit on Youtube. The wow factor does not meet the expectation. MG or RG is all you need.
