The LM111E02 Gun-EZ Ground Type is a land combat variant of the Gun-EZ introduced in Victory Gundam Mobile Suit Variations. Modified by local forces for ground operations, the mobile suit features additional protection against sand and dust, along with changes to its thrusters and other body sections. Since it was a field modification, it was not assigned a new model number.
The RE/100 release recreates the Ground Type with newly molded parts throughout the kit.
The head features a remolded forehead with an embossed vulcan gun and a newly added head antenna. The upper chest receives additional armor around the dual multi-launcher, with an opening hatch molded in red and additional surface details based on the Ground Type design.
The shoulders feature newly added ducts on both sides, while the side waist armor is newly molded with improved color separation. The rear leg sections are also remolded with new thruster mouths designed to represent the Ground Type's dust-proof modifications.
A new set of printed decals is included to complete the Ground Type markings.

ReplyDeleteSadly, it lacks the oversized knee vents from the original art, which is a little annoying as an omission for the saje of reusing the leg mold.

Otherwise, I do think it looks pretty good.
Looks like they didn't do much to the head aside from add the antennas- it has the standard "Gundam eyes" instead of a visor like the original lineart.
DeleteThankfully a closer look in the new released photos shows that it actually has the bronze-colored solid visor, if I'm seeing correctly. I guess my only remaining complaint is the legs being off.
DeleteYeah but the visor is considerably bigger on the lineart. Its the same head as before- just without the "black eye-liner" separating the eyes. It feels like the bare minimum amount of work- and the vents are the same as the standard Gun-EZ.

It looks cool, but the import prices make it not worth the money. I will just grab the original. If it came with some exclusive accessories, it might be better.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest... This looks more like a space type than a ground type. I mean, it looks like the model has extra thrust and such. Not to mention the head design is very space type.

ReplyDeleteLooks neat and i like the colours more than the standard Gun-EZ but i'm fine with not getting it.
