The RX-160S-2 Byarlant Custom 02 mobile suit appears in the manga and novels UC-MSV, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - Bande Dessinee, and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: The Noble Shroud. Bier Quatrieme and Riddhe Marcenas are two of its pilots.

At Torrington Base, the second Byarlant Custom unit was built as a hybrid "creature" (Chimera) of Titans mobile suits. In contrast to Unit 1, which is a modification validation unit, the Byarlant Custom 02 is the finished version of the Byarlant Custom. The back-mounted propellant tank/thruster components of Unit 1 were replaced with moveable binders with integrated beam cannons, thrusters, and fuel tanks in Unit 2. The usage of conventional MS hands to carry portable weapons, minor adjustments to the foot design, and new armament were among the other differences between Unit 1 and Unit 2.

The two long beam rifles on the Byarlant Custom 02's arms can be employed as ranged or melee combat weapons because they can generate beam sabers. Aero Armor shields atop the long beam weapons can be used to reduce air resistance when held in front of the mobile suit during high-speed flight. The ORX-005 Gaplant's booster can be connected to the Byarlant Custom 02's rear skirt thruster, increasing thrust and allowing the mobile suit to reach higher strata of the atmosphere on its own.

The kit shares the same molds with the HGUC 1/144 BYARLANT CUSTOM 02 (BANDE DESSINEE VER.) provided with different color scheme.

It also comes with special joint components that can be linked to the booster of the HGUC 1/144 Gaplant (sold separately), recreating the flight configuration shown in the manga.
