Straight from Mobile Suit Gundam Senki, the final machine of the second lot piloted by Captain Hugues Courand, commander of the “Phantom Sweep Squadron,” makes its long-awaited debut in HG form! Gundam Unit 7 arrives with a brand-new design that pushes detail, articulation, and play value to the next level.
Unit 7 has been faithfully realized with entirely new modeling. Its distinctive rear-mounted verniers, a hallmark feature of the mobile suit, are reproduced with meticulous precision, highlighting the unit’s unique silhouette.
The newly designed movable upper arm and innovative linked leg mechanism significantly expand the range of motion, allowing fans to recreate high-action poses with ease. The forearm can rotate for versatile weapon handling, while the independently moving legs showcase the machine’s inner mechanical structure, delivering both realism and flexibility.
Fully Equipped Armaments
Unit 7 comes armed with newly reproduced weaponry to match its dynamic frame:
- Beam Rifle
- Beam Saber x2
- Shield
- Flat Hand Part (Left)
The RX-78-7 7th Gundam was developed as part of the Second Lot of Project V mobile suits, first introduced through Kunio Okawara’s M-MSV designs and later redesigned for Mobile Suit Gundam: Battlefield Record U.C. 0081. Completed after the One Year War under the FSWS Plan, the unit was conceived to push performance further with enhanced armor and weapon systems.
As the third FSWS machine, the RX-78-7 inherited lessons from the Heavy Gundam and Full Armor Gundam, combining their concepts into a refined frame. It featured a 360-degree panoramic monitor, high-output generator, optimized energy systems, and verniers placed across the body for exceptional maneuverability.
Designed to mount optional Full Armor parts (FA-78-3 and HFA-78-3), it carried latches across its frame and boasted enough power to sustain its systems even when fully equipped. Advanced technology such as magnet coating and experimental panoramic monitoring placed it on par with the RX-78NT-1 Gundam “Alex,” securing its place as one of the most sophisticated evolutions of the RX-78 line.
